Villages: Nea Phokea village in Halkidiki |
|
Nea Phokea village Halkidiki: This city is the gateway into the peninsula of Cassandra and was founded after 1922 by refugees from eastern Thrace, on the site of ancient Potidaea, an antiquity city founded by Corinthian colonists around 600 BC, which had a really turbulent history.
It is one of the prettiest villages of Halkidiki and the one with the biggest historical background.
It is located near the canal, which is open since 1930, and that separates the peninsula from the rest of Halkidiki. |
