Banieres beach Halkidiki: Banieres is the main beach of Neos Marmaras, the most popular resort of Sithonia Peninsula. The locals call the beach Banieres because of its "bath-tub" shape, which makes it a tad too deep at the beginning, but gets shallow as you go in farther.
A mixture of lush green landscape and aquamarine waters, the area has managed to retain its natural charm in the midst of development. The beach is organized and crowded and offers umbrellas and sun beds to rent. The beach promenade is lined with cafes, beach bars and taverns which offer all-day refreshments and a fine choice of fresh seafood dishes.
Beyond the Banieres lay several clean beaches, in a walking distance or short drive from Neos Marmaras. |
