Zakynthos: Katastari Zakynthos

Katastari Zakynthos: Katastari is a lovely village located 17km north west of Zakynthos Town. It is a picturesque settlement surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. It is built amphitheatrically aside the main road offering a fantastic view. Although the coasts of Zakythos get so popular in summer, this inland village preserves its traditional character and natural beauty.

Close to Katastari, there is the monastery of Agios Ioannis Prodromos built in 17th century, from where you will enjoy fantastic view to Alykes. In the close village of Pigadakia, just 1 km away, there is also a folklore museum with an interesting collection of things, like silver plates, broidery, sewing machines, traditional furniture and agricultural tools. Many visitors arrive here from the Town just to enjoy the local customs.
