The Theatrical Scene of Sarakinado is expected to have been completed by the end of December. This was announced by the local authorities a few days ago, while they also stressed out the importance of this theatrical scene for the whole island. It should be noted that till now Zakynthos didn't have a proper theatre. Whenever theatre plays were to be performed, they would take place in the Cultural Centre, which is not a suitable and comfortable place for theatre. Apart from building a proper theatre for the island, among the objects of the local authorities is to establish a Festival of Amateur Theatre, where amateur theatrical groups from all over Greece will present their performances there every summer.
