Alykes Zakynthos: Alykes is a beach resort which is 18 kilometres north-west of the capital of the island of Zakynthos.
It owns its name from the many salt-pits (called “alykes” in Greek) that can be found behind the village and which used to be an important source of income for the inhabitant of the island.
Plenty of restaurants, bars, touristy shops and accommodations are available in Alykes and in the surrounding area.
