Many interesting buildings with a Venetian influence can be found along the narrow streets of Lakka. There are also many shops and amenities, such as a bakery, a butcher, some minimarkets, ATM, and Internet café, and also a water-sports centre including scuba diving. It is possible to hire some water sports equipment in Lakka –e.g., for windsurfing and snorkeling- as well as boats.
Regarding the accommodation options in Lakka, it is possible to stay in one of the quiet villas scattered outside the village. Lakka has also several music bars that stay open until the early morning in high season. The restaurants found in this location are also special, with the Italian influence complementing the traditional Greek cuisine.
Although this village is not as ‘town-like’ as Gaios, it has a particular charm, given by its lively night-life and interesting activities but it gets neither too noisy nor too crowded. The area close to the harbour, obviously, concentrates most part of the movement, while the surroundings provide great scenes in a tranquil framework. In case of choosing somewhere else to settle, the village of Lakka certainly worthies the visit and it is pretty easy to reach.
