| Paxi is a cluster of six small islands in the Ionian Sea, south of Corfu. As they are so small and so close to Corfu, the myth says that Poseidon, the god of the sea, cut with his anchor a part of southern Corfu to hide his love with a sea nymph. That is how Paxi and the surrounding islets were created. |

South of Paxi, there is the uninhabited islet of Antipaxi. Reachable by boat, Antipaxi is famous for its greenery and the crystal water. Most famous beaches are Voutoumi and Mesovrika.
Both Paxi and Antipaxi provide wonderful shelters for fishing boats and yacths. |
