Paxi (or Paxoi) Festivals, Greece: Information about the Festivals of Paxi, Ionian

 

 

According to the lively atmosphere and the traditional character of Paxi, there are a few festivals and celebrations that take place, especially in summer.
The most well-known festival is the International Music Festival, which takes place in Logos village from late August to early September.

Classical concerts are given almost every day by students of the Guildhall School of Music and
 
Logos village also hosts the Spring Music Festival, which is a competition for Greek students to participate, playing various music styles. These participants have to be post-graduate students or professional music teachers.

The Spring Music Festival is usually celebrated on May and extends for over two weeks.

Apart from these official festivals,there are also many
 
People attend the Mass in the Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin in Gaios and afterwards, they dance and eat traditional dishes.

There are also other important festivals, such as the name day of Agios Charalambos, the protector saint of Paxi, on 10th February.
