General information

Agios Nikolaos Beach Paxi: The tiny islet of Agios Nikolaos sits just opposite the bay of Gaios, the capital of Paxi, covering this large cove from wind and sea. The boats and water taxis at the Gaios can be rented for a ride to Agios Nikolaos islet which is covered with thick dense forests and is an ideal place to stroll.

On the islet you will find the ancient Venetian fortress built in 1423, one of the remaining structures that adorn this tiny island. Other sightseeings are the old churches of Agios Ioannis and Agios Nikolaos from which the islet took its name. The frescoes here are quite interesting to see.

Agios Nikolaos offers a much delightful view of the harbour of Gaios and the endless horizon to the other side. While its isolated beach is great for relaxing. For the best view, walk up to the old windmill which is a trademark of the islet.
