Meganisi is famous for the Feast of Sardines in the square of Vathi village in July. This festival is celebrated every year with the accompaniment of traditional orchestra.

Chess night is also organized in the beginning of August in the village of Katomeri. The event is held at the village Katomeri with the participation of a chess expert.

These events include traditional festival with modern and folk music, cultural symposia, theatrical performances, shadow theatre shows, known as Karagiozis in Greek, musical concerts, poetry reading, football championships and revivals of old customs.
