Lefkada is a beautiful island, packed to the edges with a mass of trees, hills and pungent flowers.
The main town is situated in the north east and can be accessed from the mainland by a narrow causeway.
The west coast of the island has some of the best beaches you will find in the world. Some are very active, with kite and wind surfers very much in evidence while others just provide a magnificent backdrop for sunbathers.
