This beach offers some windsurfing clubs and a lot of rental facilities. Laser sailboats and catamaran are also available for rent. In the area, one will find various accommodations, camping sites, taverns, shops, cafes and bars. The hotels located on the beach offer special facilities for windsurfers’ material.
The little port of Vassiliki offer daily services to the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia. Little fishing boats effectuate every day trips to the most famous beaches and to the ones that are accessible only by boat. |

Vassiliki covers quite a large area and the village has a port, harbour, and bay which has a big reputation for windsurfing. Indeed if the wind is right then the bay is absolutely packed with windsurfers. During the day lessons are given here and you can see all standards in evidence, from beginners to experts. Windsurfing aside the long pebbly beach is used mainly for spectating family members and is not ideal for sunbathing. There is quite a bit of wind; that said some do brave it and there are loungers. Behind the beach sit a row of hotels and bars and behind these is the main street itself. To the west the village blends into Pondi which has a small bay itself along with a lot of hotels. The harbour area of Vasiliki is very much in action with a lot of fishing boats moored here. Around the edges there are a number of good seafood restaurants. Slightly to the east of this is the port from where people take boats to Kefallonia and Ithaki. Caiques also leave from here.
Impressions: The small fishing village atmosphere may be long gone but Vassiliki is still a very nice place to visit. It holds a lot of tourists but has not succumbed to being a tacky resort. The windsurfing here can be enjoyed in person or as a spectator. The area around the harbour is very pleasant and a good place to enjoy some seafood.

| There is a café with one computer with internet access next to the harbour but it is not always available. Next to the harbour there is also a cashmachine. The shops in the area sell international press. |
