The island of Lefkada is famous for the perfect weather conditions it offers for windsurfing and kite surfing. Indeed, the thermal winds that are blowing during the summer afternoons in some areas of the island make those places ideal for those water sports. The two most windy beaches perfect for those sports are the beautiful beaches of Vassiliki and Agios Ioannis Frini where hundreds of windsurfers and kite surfers are doing spectacular figures and offering a multicoloured spectacle.
The beach of Vassiliki is 38 kilometres south of the capital of the island while the beach of Agios Ioannis Frini is just a couple of kilometres away from the capital.
Both beaches have fine golden sand and turquoise waters.
