Lefkada Island is part of the Ionian
Islands but it is linked with the mainland of Greece
(to the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania) by a bridge
passing over the narrow channel which make it the
only Greek island reachable also by car or bus.
It is a mountainous and fertile area full of dense
vegetation. It is a quiet popular holiday destination
