The Byzantine Museum of Kythira

In Kato Livadi, one can visit the Byzantine Museum housed in the post-Byzantine church of the Analipsi (Ascension). This museum offers a fine and rare collection of fragile paintings and frescoes from abandoned churches, rescued by the Greek Department of Archaeology.
 
The exhibition also includes examples of artistic styles from the early Christian times until the late post-Byzantine period, as well as fragments of an important early Christian floor mosaic, collected from the ruins of the church of Agios Ioannis, at Potamos.

The Archaeological Museum of Kythira

An Archaeological Museum can be visited in Hora. It is housing an important collection of Minoan vases, Mycenaean pottery, various remains from the Archaic and Classical periods and many marbles of men and women.
