Kythira is a pristine island with lush green vegetation, consisting of different types of plants and flowers. The sparkling water springs that flow through the inland give to this island a striking beauty. The monasteries embedded in the hills offer unique sights to visitors.
Chora Town is the capital of the island and a strong Venetian castle dominates on top of a hill above the village. Most popular and organized beaches include Kapsali and Agia Pelagia, however there are lots of secluded coves to enjoy some peace and quiet. Halkos, Likodimou and Melidoni are only few such relaxing coves with wild scenery.
