A lot of American tourists are expected to be coming to Kefalonia from summer 2010 since the contact between the local authorities of the island and the shipping company "Hollandia Lines" has resulted in a new tourist project. On one side, Hollandia Lines has ensured direct charter connections between Kefalonia and Miaimi, USA. On the other side, the local authorities will have the new jetty in the port of Argostoli ready by the next summer, 2009. This new jetty will be able to host a cruise ship of 300m, which will have 3,000 people on board. This ship of the Hollandian Lines will make a 10-day cruise around the Ionian islands and the Adriatic coasts, having Kefalonia as a base. These cruises will be scheduled all summer long. Every corner of the island has already been photographed and the new tourist promotion in expected to make Kefalonia a famous tourist destination all over the world.
