The Archaeological Museum

This museum is the most complete of the museums of Kefalonia and houses various finds from the prehistoric, the Hellenistic and the Roman period.

The best part of the collection is from the Mycenaean period and consists of finds such as coins, swords, sculptures, ceramics and tools.

The Natural History Museum

Established by the Society for the Protection of the Environment of the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca, the Natural History Museum is located in the village of Davgata.

This museum was founded in order to introduce the natural environment of Kefalonia and Ithaca to the people, and to protect it.

Visitors will find here precious
Information and documents explaining the every day life and the folk culture of Kefalonia are also exhibited along with information about the most important historical events that took place during the Venetian, Frankish, Turkish, French and British periods as well as the union of the Ionian Islands with the rest of Greece.

Many interesting books have been produced by the Historical and Folk Art Museum.
 
Archaeological Museum

The Ecclesiastical Museum of Apostole Andreas of Milapedia

The museum is housed in the buildings of the Monastery of Milapedia, in the village of Perata. It contains an interesting and rich collection of ecclesiastical exhibits.

Drogarati cave

This Cave is actually a natural miracle, with many amazing formations of stalactites and stalagmites. It is found close to Sami village.

The Corgialenion Historical and Folk Art Museum

This interesting museum is housed in the ground floor of the Corgialenion Library, in the capital of Kefalonia.

It has been founded in order to preserve the memory of the political, economical, social and historical conditions of Kefalonia before the earthquake of 1953.

The archives of the museum consist in various documents, personal items, portraits, tools, utensils, maps, icons, photography, books and much more, dating from the beginning of the 15th century and after.

The museum also houses a collection of drawings of women costumes as they used to be between the 16th and the 19th century.
Iakovatios Museum and Library

The Iakovatios museum is a remarkable place to visit while in Kefalonia. It has a collection of rare books and artifacts.

This museum was formed by volunteers in order to develop the sensitivity of people towards the nautical environment.
