More about: Kefalonia island
I chose this destination to spend a week of my summer holidays as I had studied the story of Italian soldiers who died on Kefalonia and I had seen a documentary about the island. Before my arrival, I had no idea what Kefalonia would be like. I thought it would be probably more similar to the other Greek Islands, like Mykonos or Santorini. But Kefalonia is very different!! Kefalonia is a strange Island. For the first three days I didn't like that very much, it's too different from Minorca- Formentera-Creta...but day by day the island comes into your soul... It is full of trees, has beautiful villages –Fiskardo and Agia Efimia were the best ones-, the food we tasted was great. There were many places and sites to visit and the weather was great. The local transportation was good, although the streets’ safety needs to be improved. You have to go to Kefalonia for its soul....for its peacefulness and for its blue/green landscape. And it's important to have or a car or a motorbike, not a scooter because the island is very big!
