Kefalonia Review:
Athens was amazing and so intresting. Kefalonia was like any island holiday but the people were fantastic and so friendly. Hotel was good but beaches rather gritty and stoney. Be sure you get plenty of lip balm, as winds, sun and salt air dry out the lips and one gets blisters. Car hire was very easy and economical. Kefalonia village had all amenities except a chemist which opens - the one there was closed down indefinately.
Restaurants were numerous and very competitive, some gave little extras like glass of cognac at end of meal. All restaurants were very clean and food was savoury and varied.
A local bus service around the island would be good. Taxi fares were very expensive too and from the airport.
