Kefalonia Review:
Nationality: British

Age: 63

Countries visited: 15-30

The trip: I arrived on Kefalonia by plane with the XL Air. The trip was very good with no delays

Reasons for going to Kefalonia: Recommended by friends

Idea of Kefalonia before arriving: Expected the island to be dry and brown, like the mainland. Expected good beaches and warm weather. Expected cheap, interesting food, with lots of fish

Best Beaches : Foki Bay

Best Activity : Marine Adventure boat trip from Fiskardo Harbor

Best Bar/Pub/Club : Theodora's Coffee Bar, Fiskardo

Negative opinion about Kefalonia island: Action should be taken to clean up the rubbish that is lying around - plastic bags, plastic bottles & drinks cans, plus all the old cookers, fridges and builders rubble etc which gets tipped by the side of the roads

Recommendations: Take a trip in the Agia Kyriaki, a lovely old boat which runs day long snorkeling trips from Fiskardo Harbor. Even if you are staying elsewhere on the island, it is well worth the early start to join this trip. It is fun for the whole family. Jamie, the young chap who runs it, is very good with young and old alike. In addition to teaching newcomers how to snorkel, (all the kit is provided), he also provides a very knowledgeable talk on the underwater creatures, how they live, and man's impact on their environment. Jamie is a wizard at finding octopus and other sea creatures which he puts in a tank on deck to illustrate his talk during the picnic lunch. Afterwards of course, the creatures are put back in the sea

Rate of the overall quality/organization/services of this island/area in comparison with other countries: 9/10
