Last summer, we had been to beautiful Kefalonia. I was completely overwhelmed by the sight of the huge mountains, the looming cliffs and the endless valleys filled with dense olive plantations. This island has a unique natural beauty that charms your senses. The local people are very friendly and their warm hospitality is truly endearing. We stayed in Skala and our hotel was very close to the beach. We enjoyed water sports and swimming here. This beach is fully developed with sun beds and loungers for tourists. I simply loved the sea food dishes there!
We roamed about Kefalonia by car since it is comfortable and easy that way. We toured Melissani Cave, Agios Andreas Monastery, Church of Saint Gerasimos and went north to Fiscardo village. This was my favourite touristy place and it would get very popular in the evening, particularly with people coming to have dinner.
