I arrived on Kefalonia on a Stiritzis line ferry boat. The trip was good the ship was on schedule, everything was perfect.
Reasons for going to Kefalonia: I have relationship with the place (ancestors, friends) : It was an island that the grandfather of my husband came from. So we decided to visit Kefallonia in 1996. From then, we go there almost every year.

General opinion about Kefalonia: Kefalonia is not an island for night life but mainly for swimming and resting. Very nice sandy beaches at the south. Incredible beach at the west is Myrtos. Everyday, you can do something different or swim in a different beach. It's not a windy island.
Favorite things about Kefalonia:
Best Beaches : Myrtos, Antisamos, Ksi, Petanoi, Makrys Gialos, Ai Helis, Skala, Avithos
Best Villages : Poros, Skala, Vlachata, Kourkoumelata, Assos, Fiskardo, Agia Efimia.
Best Activity : Swimming
Best Bar/Pub/Club : Night Life is mainly at Argostoli. Del Mar is a nice club between Sami and Agia Efimia. Club Spilaio is between Skala & Poros. Kefallonia is not a place for night life.
Best Restaurant : Enetikon at Beach Avithos, Klimatis at Beach Lourdas, Paradisenia Akti at Agia Efimia, Vaso's at Fiskardo, Kyani Akti at Argostoli, Hersona's at Troyanata.
More: Additional Places to visit: Mountain Ainos, Melissani Lake, Drogarati Kave, Castle of Ag. Georgios, Church of Saint Gerasimos, Robolla Wines, Museums at Argostoli.
Recommendations for Kefalonia: It is a very big island and you need a car to visit all the villages and beaches.
