Kefalonia Pessada Beach 01 Pessada kefalonia: There is a port at Pessada but this is well away around the headland and does not affect either of these two lovely bays. Parking up near the road (there is little carpark to speak of) you walk down some nicely carved stone steps amid a riot of greenery. At the bottom there is a lovely little bay, with soft sand and clear water with plenty of rocks dotted about in the bay. To the right there is another even nicer bay just around the headland. Keep your wits about you if you choose to go round here as the terrain is slippery.
 

On arrival there is a small but often busy bay. The rock face rises dramatically behind it and offers quite a bit of shade later in the day.
Nearby, the Church of Estravromenos stands on the outskirts of the village. The tower here is almost rocket like in its appearance with its blue tip. Exceptional views are offered from this church towards the south and the rippling sea.

Our Impressions:
It is small, wonderfully undeveloped bay which is off the unbeaten track. They may not be one of the priorities for your visit but if you are spending a bit of time on the island do make an effort to enjoy its delights.
