Kefalonia Koroni Beach 01
Kefalonia Koroni: Koroni beach is another sandy cove on the long Mounda bay or "turtle bay" of the Ionian island, Kefalonia. Sitting on the south west tip of the island before Skala, Koroni is a small golden sand beach enclosed by tall steep cliffs.

Umbrellas and chairs are available on the beach and a small tavern as well. Koroni beach has been surveyed to be a haven for the turtles in the past, but today the washing down of clay from the cliffs has made the sand dense and steep much to the dislike of the turtles.

You have to climb down a rocky path to reach the beach but the sunset is worth the effort when the whole vicinity turns orange yellow. The panoramic view of the cape and the blue horizon from the top of the cliffs is also beautiful. The small village of Thiromnas is nearby with taverns and shops. Access to the beach is by road from the resort of Skala or Mavratas.
