One of my favorite moments (as there wasn't just one to share) was waking up to the view over the sea and taking in the fresh morning sea breeze and the quietness of the area. It's a great way to start your day.
Another was sitting in the garden near the pool in the afternoon. Despite the heatwave, it is such a cool, calm place to be.
The pool is immaculately clean and the hotel is strict about making sure that no "outsiders" make noise or enter the area. So vacationers at the hotel know that they've got the pool and garden all to themselves.
Near the pool is a playground, if you have children and small duck pond. My son loves it there.
The restaurant is clean and you can watch TV outside on the patio, or log in the internet (wireless) while enjoying your beer. It's really a relaxing place.
The people that run the hotel are very friendly. They ask how you are, how you intend to spend your day; they offer ideas and at the same time, they are discreet so as not to bother you.
What impresses me most of all is that there is a general relaxed atmosphere in the hotel; visitors seem relax and you don't feel like a stranger in a strange place. You feel at home, actually.
And if you're tired of being in a quiet place, all you need to do is walk 5 minutes away from the hotel into the town of Lixouri where all the hustle and bustle is. But, then again, Lixouri is not a noisy area, compared to Argostoli. People are strolling or enjoying a meal or drinks at the taverns lined up at the port. Children are playing in the central square and, if you have children like us, you can enjoy a drink or food in the square while your children run free while you keep an eye on them without having to get out of your chair every 2 minutes. Lixouri is literally a safe place to enjoy your holidays with children.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will definately come back. It was worth our time and money. Our vacation time was not wasted.
