We have just returned rather sadly from yet another fantastic stay at the Afrato Apartments. This was our fifth year and we have already booked for next year because we cannot wait to go back again. Jerry and Christina are perfect hosts - nothing is too much trouble for them. Jerry is a very kind man with a great deal of old-world charm but with a dry, wicked sense of humour who likes to tease his regulars unmercifully - fortunately he has a never-ending supply because quite a few of his guests are 'returners'! His wife, Christina, is a lovely, bubbly lady who doesn't speak much English but makes up for this lack in other caring ways, flowers on arrival, maybe some cake or jam as a surprise one day. The apartments (which are the largest we have ever stayed in), gardens and the pool are all kept spotlessly clean - and the views are stunning, whether to the sea or the mountains behind. I would recommend the Afrato Village to anyone who enjoys getting away from it all - it is in a very quiet area some way from the villages. Unless you enjoy walking (it is VERY hilly) I would recommend hiring a car or (if you are feeling brave) a scooter because it is out of the way. Thanks Jerry and Christina for another wonderful stay - we miss you but are already looking forward to next year. |
The ideal spot |

For a relaxing and very laid-back holiday then this is the ideal place. It is quiet and peaceful and has wonderful views overlooking the sea. The apartments are clean , tidy and well equipped. There is a large swimming pool and on a number of days there are so few people that it feels like your own private pool. However the one thing that makes this the ideal spot is that the owners Jerry and Christina make you feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you feel like part of the family which adds that extra something to what is the perfect spot for those who like a holiday where at times it is so quiet that you can hear the waves lapping on the shore below.

We are returning to Afrato on Thursday for our fifth visit, I think, after a break of nearly 5 years - thanks to the birth of our lovely Evie in 2007! Can't wait to see the place and the lovely Jerry, Christina and Natasa - and introduce Evie to a little bit of Paradise.
Can't wait......

My family stayed at the beautiful Afrato Village and throughly enjoyed the gorgeous view, clean and spacious room, perfect pool, plus the excellent service from Jerry and Christine.
Make sure to rent a car, scooter, or bicycle- or bring good walking shoes as it is definitely a good walk up and down a hill to the beach- good exercise!
We will be back one day soon! |
