The villages of Ithaca are known for keeping the traditional design of the buildings alive. Many of the old buildings have been well preserved. In towns such as Vathy, there are building restrictions that prohibit the use of modern designs and limit the colors that can be used.

Description: Anogi is a small mountainous village that offers gorgeous view to the sea. It has few inhabitants.

Description: This small village is built along the slopes of a hill and offers great view to the surrounding area.

Description: Lefki is built on the slopes of a hill and gives amazing view to the sea strait between Ithaca and Kefalonia.
Location: 19 km north west of Vathy
Description: This is a small village with gorgeous view to the sea. Many smaller settlements are found in the area.

Description: Stavros is a picturesque village on the northern side of Ithaca, with traditional architecture and nice sea view.

Description: This village used to be the old capital of Ithaca, but today it is not inhabited.

Description: Perahori is a mountainous village south of Vathy. Its few inhabitants deal with agriculture and cattle breeding.
