 Ithaca only has one bus which departs three times a day from Vathy (or Ithaki Town) and serves the villages of Lefki, Stavros, Platrithias, Frikes and Kioni.
The local bus is cheap and worth having a ride, since it crosses some wonderful landscapes, offering breathtaking views of the straits of Ithaca when passing the narrow isthmus, of Kefallonia and of the east coastline of the island.
Taxis are also available in Vathy and will go to the main villages for a specific amount.
