Skinos Ithaca: Skinos beach in the island of Ithaca, Greece Ionian

The sea at Skinos beach has crystal waters and an emerald green tinge to it. The water and the rocky shoreline are superb for snorkeling activities. The landscape at Skinos is spectacular with cypresses bordering the beach. The beach is least known for its commercial culture, having no tourist amenities. It is advisable to carry the basic supplies of food and drinks when coming to this beach.

This lack of facilities is not a hindrance though for the nature lovers who can soak in the invigorating and unspoilt scenic charm of the beach. For the "tan and sand" tourist there is plenty of shade, especially during the afternoon, and the water is perfect for an excellent swimming experience.

Being a bit isolated, Skinos beach is not cleaned on a regular basis by the local authorities, which means time and again there can be some eyesore in terms of litter, which gets washed on the seashore. The backdrop of Skinos beach is dotted with some exclusive villas -definitely a well thought investment considering the much splendoured environment of the region.
