Sarakiniko Beach Ithaca: The Sarakiniko beach is situated about 3 kilometers from the Vathy. Sarakiniko beach is situated close to Filiatro beach. It boasts of a brilliant natural setting. It is very quiet and calm with a dazzling sea and a pebbly beach.
The seawater has a bluish tinge adding to the magnetism of the beach and its surroundings. Sarakiniko beach has ample shade areas due to the cypresses and the olive trees that dot the landscape. Sunbathing on the pebbly surface is a common feature in this beach.
There are basically no amenities in Sarakiniko beach, which is a stark exception compared to Filiatro beach, just a couple of minutes drive, where facilities are abundant. As a matter of fact, local inhabitants and visitors have often ignored Sarakiniko beach, as it is only 1 km away from the much-commercialized Filiatro Beach which is full of amenities for the tourist. |
