I had been to Corfu some time in my child years with family and friends. We all stayed at a Gouvia, a tourist resort, some miles away from the city. I remember vividly the small hotel with the large swimming pool. To my young eyes, the swimming pool was as large as the sea! The owners were just... More >
Finally I got to visit Corfu with two friends of mine, on a summer week of August. A friend of ours, who lives there, was happy to give us a tour of the island and show the amazing beauties. Unfortunately, I will have to keep it as short as possible in order to avoid talking for hours. The... More >
Corfu is the largest island of the Ionian Sea and one of the most beautiful destinations in Greece. I first visited the island 10 years ago but this time I felt the great atmosphere and the beauty of the island. Corfu is popular for its traditional cuisine and its musical tradition. Pastitsada and... More >
Over the years Corfu is getting more and more commercialized and as a regular visitor to the island I am quite pained. That said, I still can't think of any other place in Greece, where I'd much rather for holiday. And despite all the cheerful budget resorts that are crowding the island, I still... More >
What I liked best about Corfu was its greenery. Hot spells in summer and mild winter rains have produced a green island full of olive groves and the landscape is absolutely pleasing to the eye. After few days enjoying the beach in Pelekas and the hot sun, I decided to take a local taxi and explore... More >
We had been to Corfu twice before and we went again last summer because it is a great place for families with children. Beaches are safe: no strong winds, no urchins, no deep water. Perfect to let your children free all day. Favourite beaches: Glyfada, Agios Gordis, Pelekas, Ypsos and so many... More >
I've been several times in Corfu, before visiting Dodecanese. Living in Bari, it was very close to Italy and well linked with my town. About the island, it's a nice one even if it's quite far from my idea of Greece: it looks too European.
The Old Town is interesting, but in the last years it... More >

Our experience is that Corfu was the best destination we ever had. Best villages, gorgeous beaches, amazing landscape. I had heard that Corfu gets very busy in July and August, so we tried it a month earlier (mid-June) and indeed sometimes beaches were so relaxing that I could even forget my name!... More >
Drive along the south

All people say that the north of Corfu is the best part, but I enjoyed south the most. You drive along narrow hills up and down and you pass through small villages, under arched roads and by traditional Greek coffee houses that have tables in the yard and old men are drinking coffee or playing... This was my second time in Corfu, but the first was only for three days so it doesn't really count! This time, I stayed for two weeks and I can tell you, I feel in love with this island! We stayed in a villa in Agios Stefanos but also rented a car so we drove all over Corfu and stopped wherever we... More >
