Reopened after renovation April 17th 2006, the Bella Venezia Hotel, housed in a gloriously restored neo-classical mansion, is an oasis of calm in the heart of Corfu's vibrant capital. Originally the 19th-century residence of one of the island's "first families," in the 20th century the edifice served as a consulate, the National Bank of Greece, and a Lyceum for Corfiot schoolgirls.
