Reopened after renovation April 17th 2006, the Bella Venezia Hotel, housed in a gloriously restored neo-classical mansion, is an oasis of calm in the heart of Corfu's vibrant capital. Originally the 19th-century residence of one of the island's "first families," in the 20th century the edifice served as a consulate, the National Bank of Greece, and a Lyceum for Corfiot schoolgirls.

This mansion located at the old town of Corfu dating back to the 1823 was the residence of the ancestor Loukas Metaxas and his family. His daughter Victoria, was born in 1901 and passed away in1993.
