Corfu Impressions

General:
Corfu is a fairly big island and contains a variety of contrasts. Much of the island is beautiful with its trademark cypress trees, hills and lovely coastline. On the other hand its hard to find such beauty in many of the tourist resorts which consist mainly of fast food outlets and sun wear shops.
Corfu is a large island and also contains mountain peaks. The capital is located on the east coast and here you will find a hive of activity with most of the tourist resorts located above and below it.

Our Impressions:
Depending on where you go on the island you can come away with the impression of tacky tourist resorts or a place of unspoiled beauty. It is best to see as much of the island as possible because the places that are often away from the hive of tourist activity are often the nicest.

Practical advices:
Arriving at the port:
- The port is located a couple of Km away from the main town. Be aware that Corfu is a big island and that your accommodation may be situated far away. There are not so many public buses and not always easy.

Arriving at the airport:
- The airport is located a couple of Km from the town.

The Roads
The roads are in good conditions but be aware of scooters and other motorbikes. There are many accidents of tourists with scooters.
