A remarkable feature of this wine that is produced in Strinilas is the distinct fragrance which has endeared itself to many of its loyal customers worldwide. Getting to Strinilas village is half the fun. The mountainous road snakes its way all the way to Spartilas and on the way there are numerous vantage points from where one can bask in the uninterrupted views of the scenic Northeastern coast as well as the town of Corfu which looks like a well spread out carpet.
As you travel uphill, you will come across many roadside memorials that have been built in the everlasting memory of those who perished in accidents on this treacherous mountain terrain.Once you reach Spartilas which is a fascinating ancient village and quite large by Corfu’s standards. The residents of this village have set up their dwelling units in this village fairly recently, primarily to escape the wrath of the pirates.
Out here in Spartilas, you will find several elegant Kafeneons that are well stocked with the finest of liquors and wine. You would do well to sip a few pegs of your favorite tipple in any of the Kafeneons on your way uphill to the village of Strinilas. As your vehicle goes past Spartilas and a further travel of 1 Kms, you take the road with the signpost 'Petaleia 7 and Lafki 12' that will take you to your ultimate destination. The topography changes every kilometer and therein lies the fun. Once your vehicle arrives at the quaint village square, which is conspicuous by a gigantic Elm tree, you can be sure that finally you are in Strinilas village.
