Corfu Villages: Kassiopi village in Corfu
Corfu Kassiopi 01

Kassiopi Corfu: The village of Kassiopi lies 38 kilometres north of Corfu Town, opposite the Albanian coasts.

This little picturesque fishing village has a population of about 1200 inhabitants and is dominated by a Roman fortress where it is supposed that the Emperor Nero stopped once.

Several taverns, cafes, bars and accommodation are scattered around the village.

There are a number of bays around the village of Kassiopi . Coming from the west the beach next to part of the village is tiny, windy, full of loungers and not very pleasant. Behind this there is a café and behind this the usual resort shops. The headland itself contains nicer pebbly beaches where watersports are available. The headland itself holds an abandoned castle. Beyond this to the east is a small harbour which reminds you that it was once just a fishing village rather than a resort. The houses to the east are quite nice as well.

Our Impressions:
The headland and harbour are worth a visit. Though be prepared for a busy beach as the area has been very developed and there are many hotels in the vicinity.
