Corfu Villages: Gouvia/Dassia village on Corfu
Corfu Gouvia 01 Dassia & Gouvia Corfu: Those are the two first resorts north of Corfu Town, located approximately at a distance of 8 and 10 kilometres from the capital.

The village of Corfu Gouvia has about 600 inhabitants and was built on the site of an ancient Venetian harbour; today, Gouvia is the main marina of Corfu and welcomes many yachts from all over Europe.
 

t is an attracting village which concentrated a wide range of activities and accommodation as well as many taverns, cafes, bars and night clubs. During summer, the village gets really busy, with an exciting nightlife.

Over the past years, the village of Dassia has become a highly cosmopolitan resort which offers a wooded bay and a beach of pebble and sand. Accommodation, restaurants, cafes, bars and night clubs can easily be found in Dassia.

Our Impressions:
This area contains a number of beaches along with a huge marina and the old Venetian harbour. Along with this it is a very popular resort so you will find the usual range of shops, bars and restaurants. A manmade beach sits just to the north which is surrounded by a huge hotel complex. At the other side of the bay there is a nicer, shingle beach which sits near a football pitch and also the Venetian Shipyard. The latter only consists of a few arches now with the roof long gone. Further on is the marina which is very active and is Corfu ’s largest.
The beaches here are not particularly good because the water is tainted by the nearby marina. The marina itself is worth a look if you are passing.
