General information

One of the oldest villages of the island, Ano Korakiana in Corfu is said to have been in existence since the 15th century, functioning as a local center for olive and olive oil production! Showcasing its picturesque narrow alleyways and rich views (since it is situated atop mountain slopes), the village is best known for its abundance of churches, boasting a total of 37 unique church and chapel buildings!

Its population is a little over 500 permanent residents, most of whom are working at the local shops and businesses. Plus, Ano Korakiana features beautifully-paved streets, large trees, olive groves, and a few cozy taverns with local delicacies and Mediterranean flavors!

While not a tourist attraction, due to its traditional looks and the residents’ approach to everyday life, Ano Korakiana houses a handful of holiday homes, villa apartments, and stripped-down rooms for rent. In addition, Ano Korakiana can be found near Sokraki, Skripero, and Agios Markos villages.
