This summer, we drived to Corfu from our homeland, Serbia. The part of the road from Grevena to Igoumenitsa is very dificult to drive. Traveling with breaks and sleeping in the small hotels as we did, made the trip better and interesting. Corfu is very popular in Serbia because of the history and hospitality of the Corfiots in World War I. Because of that, Serbians have a lot of informations of Corfu and about all Greece, so it wasn't hard for us to get our decision about summer destination or to collect info. The whole Greece in general is one of the main touristic destinations for the people of Serbia. One of the most beautiful countries is our neigbours. First time, I was in Greece (Athens) in 1987. From this time, me and my family are exploring mainland and islands almost every year. We don't need recommendations any more.
The main attraction for us was Corfu town which is adorable and the villages with beautiful atmosphere, specially during the local festivities. Our opinion is that Corfu needs more exclusive accomodations and day attractions. Also, the police should prevent little bit of vandalism of the young people with motorbikes during the nights. We stayed in the small village of Agios Gordios recommended for family vacation, but there were some noisy nights because of the guys who were making moto races. Nevertheless, this should not stop you visiting Corfu. The beaches, the green nature, the castles, the food... Ahhh, no doubt one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen...
