Writing a review about Corfu? It's no easy job. There's too much to say, Too many places to talk about. Such a variety on offer on this island just across the Ionian Sea, a few hours' ferry voyage from Brindisi or flight from most big cities in Europe.The charm of its old town and its narrow lanes crowded with people in search for a souvenir to take home.The breathtaking views that can be enjoyed while driving along the coastal roads to reach the various beaches.The pleasure of swimming in crystal clear waters touching beaches appealing to all tastes: rocky, pebbly, sandy beaches and coves. The excitement of plunging into the water and swimming and snorkelling at Cape Dratsis,Peroulades, Kalamaki, Avlaki, Kerasia, Nissaki, Agni, Paleocastritsa, Nausica Island, Mirtiotissa ( the paradise of nudists ) only to mention a few. The sense of peace, quiet and solitude you feel at Almiros on windless days, and, by contrast, the awareness of the tremendous power of the sea on the same beach when Mistral is blowing. And not only food for the spirit, but refreshing drinks and tasty, delicious dishes served in bars and taverns and love that seems to be floating in the air in a mix that ends up involving you completely, body and soul.
On seeing Corfu, their creation, the Gods must have been very pleased with themselves. And visitors can share into this immense godlike pleasure.
