Be careful with taxi drivers

Corfu Review:
I chose Corfu as I have some Greek friends there. I am a dedicated Grecophile who loves Greece, her people, history, language and culture. I had visited Corfu on a previous occasion and thought it was absolutely beautiful. The scenery is stunning, the people friendly and the island is so easy to travel around. We stayed for four days before traveling by ferry to Parga. Apart from the couple of stormy days, the weather was perfect. Kommeno Bay was a quiet area, perfect to wind down and chill out. Our hotel was beautiful and Vicki and Fondas who run it were extremely welcoming and helpful. They made our stay in Corfu a great pleasure. I wasn't there for a beach holiday, so I can't suggest any beach. My favourite activity on the island was walking. What I didn't like was the prices charged by taxi drivers. My advice is to arrange a price and make sure the taxi meter is turned on. If you try to insist on this, then you're told to use another taxi. Driver wanted to charge 30 Euro from airport to Kommeno Bay. We said it was too much and he walked away. A driver called Akis saved the day and his price was much less.
