General information

Pelekas Beach in Corfu, also known as Kontogialos Beach, is a golden-colored shore with fine sand, stretching along the western coast of the island! It boasts crystal-clear waters and a shallow seabed, making it an excellent family-friendly beach destination, though some parts of it have large rock formations. The road that leads to the beach is also quite narrow.

This is a well-organized seashore, hosting a plethora of sunbeds and sun umbrellas, as well as a couple of beach bars providing visitors with refreshing soft drinks, cocktail mixes, and quick snacks! Furthermore, Pelekas hosts a beach volleyball court, an organized parking (with a small fee), as well as plentiful fishing boats and watersport facilities on the right-hand side of the shore!

    Run by friendly people
My friends and I stayed at this beautiful beach in August 1978. Slept in an olive grove on the hillside for which we paid the farmer $5 apiece for 5 nights.

2 small food shacks on the beach which sold spaghetti, chicken, kebabs and beer. Run by friendly people.

The beach and sea were fantastic as were the many friendly acquaintances we made.

At the time, the only way to reach the beach was by walking down the steep hillside or by boat from the sea.
