Unlike its southern namesake, the Agios Georgios beach is more natural, and calmer. The beach is enormous and extremely well maintained. A winner of the “Blue Flag”, this beach is placed ideally, in a clean and environment friendly atmosphere. There is no dearth of entertainment on here with water sports on offer and a plethora of Clubs, restaurants and tavernas lining the beach.
The Beach is accessible by car although the last few minutes need to be done on foot through a narrow, dusty track that may give an impression of being lost. The beach is soft and sandy with the occasional large pebble threatening to stub your toes. The sand makes access for the disabled, a tad bit difficult.
There are plenty of umbrellas lining the beach’s entire length, so those looking for shade need not go far. The magnificent Cypress trees and tall & graceful Olive trees growing all over this beautiful island, give it a soothing natural feel. The mesmerizing golden sand along the entire stretch of the beach smoothly flows beneath your feet. Being a nature haven, it is relatively secluded, providing you with a feeling of complete harmony with nature.
Perfect for families with young children, or anyone looking for a relaxing vacation, Agios Georgios has water that is a sparkling blue and difficult to stay out of. Restaurants, tavernas and hotels that will not dent your pocket, but still provide you with all the required comforts and more, surround it and for your entire daily needs, numerous small supermarkets can be found around the beach.
The Restaurants and Tavernas around the beach offer a perfect location to view sunsets from, and also provide a quiet nightlife for those interested. The sea however, can become a bit rough on some days. For those who prefer swimming pools to the sea, there are a couple of public swimming pools as well.Nearby is the picturesque village of Pagi, where you can drive up in either on a motorbike or in cars, which can be hired from anywhere around the beach. The beach is filled with quaint little souvenir shops, where you can buy beautiful reminders of your perfect Greek vacation at the gorgeous Agios Georgios beach.
