Halkidiki Villages: Kallithea village in Halkidiki
Halkidiki Kallithea 01 Kallithea village Halkidiki: This is another village founded by the Asia Minor’s refugees, in 1922. It is situated at 51 kilometres south of Polygiros and 90 kilometres from Thessaloniki.

It is a very cosmopolitan place with long pine beaches, crystal-clear waters, many touristy accommodation and facilities and a spectacular night life. Kallithea does not only have only magnificent beaches and well-developed touristy facilities.

It is also full of archaeological sites of great interest. Among them an 8th century sanctuary dedicated to the god Dionysius and the Nymphs, an amazing 4th century Doric temple built to worship Zeus of Ammon, a smaller one built during Roman times, a sanctuary to Demeter and Apollo, a small Byzantine church dating from 1000 AD and the small chapel of Agios Panteleimon which has very interesting murals.
