Archaeological Museum of Polygyros |

Situated
on the Heroon Square in the village of Polygyros, the
museum contains archaeological displays from all over
Halkidiki; among them are findings from the city and the
cemetery of Olynthos, from the archaeological sites of
Ierissos, Toroni and Potidea.
Particularly interesting are a semi-finished 6th century
Kouros found in the harbour of the ancient Stageiros,
a late 6th century sarcophagus from the cemetery of ancient
Acanthus, a male and female funerary statues excavated
in Stratoni as well as various votive relieves from Potidea,
vessels from Pirgadikia and many other displays.

The museum is in the village of Olynthos, 5 kilometres
from Nea Moudania, on the archaeological site of ancient
Olynthos. |

Founded by the initiative of the Women’s Voluntary Association
for Community Development, who organise folklore-related
events.
The museum is in the town centre, housed in the renovated
two-storey residence of the mayor.
All the exhibits have been donated by inhabitants of Polygyros:
old traditional furniture, costumes, everyday life utensils
and agricultural implements.

This interesting folk art museum
is located on the square of the lovely village of Aphytos,
in an old renovated building.
The collection of the museum consists of works of traditional
art, vessels, embroidery, ceramics, woven fabrics and
many tools of everyday life.

The museum is located in the town of Arnaia, 37 kilometres
from Polygyros.
It is housed in a two-storey 18th century house. It is
displaying artefacts of the popular culture of Arnaia
and the surrounding region (architectural heritage and
traditional folk instruments).
