:: Petralona Cave

Location:
near Nea Moudania village
Description: It is a cave famous for the decorations of its stalagmites and stalactites. It was discovered in 1959 and it is today open to public.

:: The Anthropological Museum of Petralona

Location: Petralona village
Description: It was founded in 1978 to house the findings from Petralona cave. The exhibits include primitive tools, prehistoric artifacts and traces of fire, among others.

:: Lake of Polychrono

Location:
to the west of Kassandra village
Description: It is a lovely lake surrounded by pine trees. The lake also constitutes a natural reserve for a rare species of water turtles, the Testudinata Turtles.

:: Neos Marmaras village

Location:
Between the villages Nikiti and Toroni, in the Sithonia Peninsula
Description: This seaside village was established in 1922 by refugees from Asia Minor and constitutes a popular summer resort. The luxurious hotel complex Porto Carras lies close to Neos Marmaras.

Location:
On the northern side of the Kassandra Peninsula
Description: Afytos is a small seaside village known for its tranquility. In recent years it has developed in tourist terms and now includes many tourist facilities.

:: Nea Moudania beach

Location
:60 km from Thessaloniki and 27 km to the southwest of Polygiros town.
Description: This beach is close to Nea Moudania village. It is a long and sandy beach with many sports facilities, such as courts for beach volley, beach tennis and beach soccer.

:: Kallithea beach

Location
: 94 km from Thessaloniki, in the peninsula of Kassandra
Description: Kallithea beach is very popular among locals and tourists. The waters are clean and warm, while the seashore is long and sandy.

:: The tower of Apostle Paul

Location:
In the waterfront of Fokea village
Description: This tower was built in 1407 to protect the village from invasions. A small church dedicated to the twelve Evangelists stands next to the tower.

:: The lighthouse in Possidi

Location:
In the beach of Possidi village
Description: This lighthouse was originally built in 1864 but has been restored since then. It is built in the colonial style and is the only building along the beach of Possidi.

:: Jeep Safari in Halkidiki

Description: It is one of the most popular activities in Halkidiki, since there are a lot of forests, cliffs and long, sandy beaches to practise this sport. There are also a lot of dirt roads to explore. These roads connect remote villages to each other and provide with you the necessary calmness.

:: Mount Athos

Location:
The eastern peninsula of Halkidiki
Description: It is a mountainous area with twenty self-governing monasteries, inhabited only by monks and a few visitors. The women are not allowed to enter this area, only men. You can take a boat and go a trip around Mount Athos. The area is extremely green and almost secluded from civilisation.

:: The Prosforio Tower in Ouranoupolis

Location:In the coastline of Ouranoupolis
Description: This Byzantine tower was built in the 14th century by monks of the Vatopedi Abbey to protect the area from enemy invasions. Today it is considered as the best preserved tower in Halkidiki.

:: The archaeological site of Olynthos

Location:
It is located to the north east of Olynthos village
Description: This archaeological site was discovered in the 1930s and includes archaeological findings of the ancient Olynthos town, which used to be the capital of Halkidiki for a while, in the antiquity. Within Olynthos village, there is an archaeological museum that hosts the findings from the excavations.

The archaeological site of Ancient Mendi

Location:
It is located in the western peninsula of Halkidiki, in Palini area.
Description: This archaeological site reveals the history of the ancient town of Mendi, a pretty strong town in terms of economy and military power. You will have the chance to admire important archaeological findings, including an ancient cemetery, coins, ceramics and ancient constructions.

67 km to the northwest of Polygiros
Description: It is the second largest city of Greece and the capital of Macedonia area. This city has a long history and many archaeological sites to see.
