Halkidiki Beaches: Trani beach in Halkidiki Trani beach Halkidiki: The name "Trani Ammouda" means a ‘large sandy beach’ and this beach certainly matches this feature. Trani Ammouda is placed close to Agios Nikolaos village, in the second peninsula of Halkidiki. It can be accessed by car, and is a very nice place, from which the imposing Mt Athos, with its old Byzantine monasteries, can be seen. It has soft sand and turquoise waters, which are ideal fro snorkelling.

It is a popular beach, although it does not get uncomfortably crowded.
