Who can participate to the contest?
Everybody can, it is free. All you need is to be registered to Greeka member area. If you are not, you can register here.
We believe that photography is meant to capture a moment, convey a feeling, or tell a story and that it is erroneous to believe that in order for a photo to be effective or artistic it must have formal composition, ideal lighting or, and most importantly, be taken by a professional.
So, do not hesitate uploading your own points of view!
We won’t take into account of photos taken by professionals. We define a professional as anyone who profits from their photography. But professional can still upload their pictures in order to share them with others.
What kind of pictures can be uploaded?
All kind of pictures can be uploaded. Since we do not have sponsors, we do not have the possibility to offer many prizes by categories. So there is no distinction in categories, such as landscapes, people, architecture, black and white, etc. We won't accept photos compositions (patchwork) made with photos editors.
We inform you that we do not have sponsors for the following awards and that is the reason why we can not offer more. We have chosen Canon because we love working with their material and George Meis because we have a lot of respect in his work. Any sponsorship proposals are welcomed. We do not search to earn money but just to be able to offer our members the maximum.
 1st Prize:
Canon D400 + 4GB Card + George Meis big calendar + 1 Posters
2d Prize:
Canon Powershot A710 IS + 4GB Card + George Meis big calendar + 2 George Meis Posters
3d Prize:
4 GB Card + George Meis big calendar + 3 George Meis Posters + 10 page markers
4th to 50th Prize:
George Meis normal calendar
- All photos entered will be evaluated by a panel of at least ten judges. Each judge will simply select the photos that strike them most for whatever reason. There won't be any professionals in the jury in order to give equal chances to everybody. Professionals might be too academic in their judgements.
- There is no limited submissions. You can upload as many photos as you wish. But it will be taken into account when we will decide who the winners are.
- Each member is only eligible for a single award.
- The photos must have been taken ONLY by you.
- Do not watermark or place any other distinguishing marks (i.e. name, copyright) on the image.
- We won’t accept photos from professionals. We define a professional as anyone who profits from their photography.
- Photos thought to be outside of the above criteria may be removed from the contest without the entrant being notified.
