Ferries to Turkey

The easiest and most frequent way to travel between Greece and Turkey is on a ferry from a Greek island to the Turkish coasts. Some Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese islands are less than an hour ferry ride from the Turkish coasts, which results very convenient for a daily excursion or quick transfer between the two countries.

Ferries to Turkey (both motorboats and hydrofoils) depart from at least five Greek islands. It is recommended that ticket reservations are made in advance. Itineraries are daily and frequent, mostly in summer when the tourist season is at its peak. In winter, ferries to Turkey are not that frequent and there may be only one boat a week or there may be no service at all.
